Newton's First Law
An object at rest will stay at rest, and an object in motion will stay in motion at a constant velocity until acted upon by an unbalenced force.
Easy enough. But what does it have to do with snowboarding? Well, Newton's first law effects snowboarding when the snowboarder launches of the side of the halfpipe and into the air. The snowboarder will then keep flying up into the air until an unbalenced force brings the board back town to the halfpipe again. The unbalenced force in this situation is gravity.
.

Also, as the snowboarder flies up in the air, their kinetic energy is changing into potential energy until they reach their highest point and their energy is all potential energy.
